The Lake District on your doorstep

Haverbrack Country House is located on the edge of the Lake District, just a short drive from Windermere.

Aira Force

Arguably the most famous water in the Lake District, enjoy watching the dramatic waterfalls with a 65ft drop as you walk the Gowbarrow Park trail. At the summit of the fell, you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Ullswater.

Hill Top & Hawkshead

Visit Beatrix Potter’s farmhouse, inspiration for her children’s books, and explore scenes from her illustrations in Near Sawrey village.

Wainwright Walks

If you’re a hill-walking enthusiast, then look no further! Many people come to The Lake District to complete the Wainwrights, which refer to hikes up the 214 fells documented in Alfred Wainwright’s seven-volume “Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells”. From his favourite Haystacks to the famous Great Gable and Crinkle Crags, there is so much to explore.

And if walking’s not your thing, why not enjoy it from the comfort of a boat with cruises going from Windermere, Ullswater, Coniston and Keswick.

Michelin Star Dining

Did you know that here in Cumbria, we’ve got the most Michelin stars outside of London! With 15 Michelin stars across 13 restaurants, including L’Enclume – which holds three Michelin stars – this is the perfect place for fine dining and creative cuisine.

Head off on a culinary journey across the Lakes with tasting menus and wine pairings to match.
