Haverbrack Country House is a luxury B&B retreat situated in the village of Beetham in the Arnside & Silverdale AONB on the edge of The Lake District. Set in three acres of beautifully maintained grounds, this Georgian country house now offers bed and breakfast for those looking for something a bit special on their visit to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

Since the owners Angharad and Chris purchased the house in 2018, they’ve renovated it painstakingly restoring Georgian and Victorian period features throughout the property to transform it into a stunning retreat, with bespoke interiors and immaculate grounds with panoramic views.

Comprising of three luxurious and unique suites (Coniston, Ullswater and Grasmere) sleeping up to six guests, the accommodation can be booked individually or in combination for that special trip away.

Coniston Suite

This suite offers guests their own lounge, bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom in a distinctive Lakeland style with handcrafted furniture and bespoke soft furnishings.

Enjoy this twin bedded room with ensuite bathroom and views overlooking the gardens. Guests have exclusive use of the downstairs snug where they can read or order a glass or wine or champagne before heading out for dinner.

The Grounds

Haverbrack Country House stands in three acres of beautiful grounds including several formal lawns as well as a wildflower meadow. The formal gardens can be enjoyed by guests and comprise of a croquet lawn, a hedged “secret” garden, a tropical area, beautiful flowering borders and gravel paths with magnificent copper beech, magnolia and Japanese maple trees.

In addition, the house has a wild meadow seeded with wild grasses, flowers and cut through paths. During the spring and summer months, guests can enjoy fresh cut flowers in their room and complementary tea and cake on arrival throughout the year.

The views from the grounds, particularly the southwestern side of the house by the driveway, are spectacular featuring rolling hills and fields and Haverbrack Lake, all situated within the Dallam Estate.

Windermere and Sedbergh are just a 25 minute drive away with Oxenholme Lake District Railway Station and direct fast trains from London just a 15 minute drive from Haverbrack and Manchester Airport for our international visitors one hour from our luxury retreat.

What a wonderful find! We spent two nights at Haverbrack Country House at the end of a fantastic holiday in Scotland, and it was the perfect way to round off our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome by our hosts, Angharad and Chris, whose hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay. The property is set within tranquil, immaculately maintained gardens that were a pleasure to explore. We stayed in the Ullswater Suite, which, like the rest of the house, is tastefully decorated, comfortable and full of character. The suite was spacious, with a generous bedroom, bathroom and separate lounge area that provided the perfect place to relax in the evenings. I honestly did not want to leave and very much hope to return in the future. I would highly recommend Haverbrack Country House to anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious and welcoming place to stay.

I suppose it is cheating to say we liked everything but we did. It is on lovely, secluded land with exceptional views. The beds were extremely comfy everything was clean and the toiletries smelt great. There was everything you wanted in your room coffee maker, kettle, bath robes, fan, tv , Wi-Fi. We were greeted with a cool drink and cake or biscuits. Our hosts were delightful and couldn't do more to help. The breakfast was great we can recommend the kippers. I was even lent a book to read about local family history and details of who in the village to find to aid me more. Breakfast was like staying with friends sitting round the large table chatting. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

A superb hideaway of charm and quality. This is a superbly maintained idyll in a beautiful quiet location. It’s outside the Lakes national park yet convenient to the southern highlights and easily accessible from the motorway system. The proprietors are friendly and are exceptionally willing to meet customers’ preferences (who ever heard of breakfast on a Sunday at 07h30?). A very interesting building is accompanied by beautiful gardens. Breakfast is memorable for the right reasons.

My Dad and I stayed with Angharad and Chris after a couple of days bike packing and camping. To be welcomed at the end of this journey with open arms, friendliness and all the home comforts was just what the doctor ordered! Beautiful house in a lush and peaceful setting. Secluded and quiet stay perfect for couples, a small group of friends/family with amenities nearby. Angharad and Chris were great hosts and welcomed us with a pot of tea and homemade cake. We had a lovely chat about the history of the building and were given great ideas for places to visit nearby. The separate lounge would be perfect for our next visit when we return with family and friends. Breakfast was delicious and more than ample to see us through our day.
